Kresge Afghan No 121 Crochet Pattern

Model 121 Afghan: This pattern contains directions to crochet the afghan pictured. Although not a fabulous picture, this design has potential. It is an easy crochet project, as well as colorful, worked in five colors in Knitting Worsted (or Germantown). The pattern is worked in one piece, switching colors as you go along, and long tufts of fringe at the long ends. Per the directions, the afghan will measure 63 x 49 inches. (Footnote : This may also have great rug potential with a change to heavy rug yarn). This pattern is vintage early 1950's and was released by Kresge as a promotion for their Green Oak Yarns.

Materials:   Crochet hook No. 4;   blunt needle;   24 oz. color No. 1, 3 oz. color No. 2, 6 oz. color No. 3, 8 oz. color No. 4, 11 oz. color No. 5, either Germantown or Knitting Worsted.

GAUGE-4 1/2 sts. to 1 inch, 4 rows to 1 inch.
