Description

Jolly Tar Jacket: This pattern gives directions for knitting the jacket pictured. Called Jolly Tar -- I'd assume based on whimsy only, with the chef hanging out the window --, the jacket is short sleeved, front buttoned and hip length with patch pockets, featuring seed stitching. The large sailor like collar and sleeves and trimmed in contrast color. The pattern is sized Small (10-12), Medium (14-16) and Large (18-20).

Body Bust : 31"-32" (34"-36"; 38"- 40") . Blocked Bust: 37" (40"-43" ). Loosely fitted garment.

Materials:

  • Botany Fleecy Down, 12 (13-14) 2-oz. skeins white, main color (MC) ; 2 skeins skipper blue, contrasting color (CC) for borders.
  • 14" knitting needles No. 8. (Or English size 5.) Two stitch holders.
  • Large-eyed sewing needle.
  • Three buttons.
  • White seam binding.

GAUGE: 5 sts = 1"; 8 rows = 1" (seed stitch ).
