Large Pinwheel Pineapple Crochet Doily Pattern, Mail Order Design E 1109

Crocheted Doily : This pattern contains directions for crocheting the doily shown. This large doily, 22 inches in diameter, features a small pinwheel as the center motif and extends outwards to a round fan of pineapples with lacy scallops. Begin at center and make 38 rounds; then pine-tips separately, back and forth, for 8 rows; then the 4 rows of edging around entire piece.

This is a Mail Order pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed by Needlework Bureau in 1948 as E-1109.  The newspaper description:  "This pretty doily is crocheted featuring a pinwheel center and a pineapple border. The stitches are simple"

Materials: About 600 yds. No. 20 mercerized crochet cotton; #9 steel crochet hook
