This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  This pattern was marketed at Laura Wheeler 1345 in 1938.  The official newspaper description:  "A first prize winner at a County Fair - an excellent cloth to own - a medallion a beginner can easily crochet. This design will lend luxury to table, chair, bed or bureau. And, here's good news for you, this lacy pattern is worked in string or fine cotton - inexpensive, smart and very effective looking".

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS:   Unbleached crochet and knitting cotton (800 yard to the skein) and a No. 8 steel crochet hook;   or No. 30 Mercerized crochet cotton and a No. 12 steel crochet hook;   Each medallion requires approximately 30 yards of heavy cotton or 17 yards of fine cotton.
