Laura Wheeler 899 Crochet Flower Pineapple Doilies

Crocheted Doilies:  These crocheted doilies can be made either of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or of No 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton. They can be used to form buffet and luncheon sets or they can be used as odd doilies.  Doilies may be crocheted at 6, 12 or 17 inches - perfect for a luncheon set. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern, purchased through newspaper and catalogs.  This pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 899.  The official newspaper description:  "Lacy and lovely, yet sturdy and cheap to make are these doilies. Even a beginner will find this a simple to crochet design".

Materials:  

• Unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (500 yard) skeins and a No. 9 steel crochet hook 
• OR No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton in (150 yard) balls and a No. 10 steel crochet hook.
• The large doily requires approximately 250 yards' of heavy cotton or 192 yards of fine cotton. The medium sized doily requires approximately 130 yards of heavy cotton or 100 yards of fine cotton.
• The small doily requires approximately 36 yards of heavy cotton or 30 yards of fine cotton.
