Description

Weekend Coat : This pattern contains directions to knit, crochet detail, the coat pictured. This delightful design is worked in a wide ribbed type pattern stitch. It is a loose fitting coat, knee length with long sleeves with deeply cuffed ends. A large collar lays across the back, draping the shoulders, and forming a notched design at the edges. It has a belted closure. The pattern, vintage 1960 from Unger Yarn, is written for misses size 12, with changes for 14 and 16 in parentheses. Now, I have not been able to identify the particulars on the yarn, so you'll have to investigate and match up by gauge, but this is so potentially worth the extra effort.

Materials:

  • Unger's WEEKEND 27 (28-29) 40 gr balls
  • Hero knitting needles size 6, OR THE SIZE YOU REQUIRE TO OBTAIN STITCH GAUGE
  • Aluminum crochet hook, Hero size D
  • ¾ yd lining material;
  • ½ yd nylon tulle.

GAUGE: Knitted:6 sts = 1"11 rows = 1" Blocked: 5 sts = 1"12 rows = 1"
