Mans Jacket Knitting Pattern, Zip Closure

The Eisenhower : This pattern contains instructions to knit, crochet detail, the jacket pattern. The design, vintage 1948, was named The Eisenhower design ... presumably for the President of that particular time. The design is a fairly easy (to intermediate) pattern knit in Sport Wool, with a ribbed type pattern stitch, long sleeves, small neck collar, ribbed banding, chest level patch pockets and a front zipper closure. The pattern is written for mens sizes 36, 38, 40 and 42.

MATERIALS:

• Dritz Heather Sport Wpol Art. #119, (2 oz. ball). 11 (11, 12,12) balls.
• Needles : 1 pr. each No. 2 and No. 5.
• 1 Steel Crochet Hook No. 1.
• 20" Conmar Separator Zipper,
• 2 Leather Buttons.

MEASUREMENTS:

• Chest 38 (40, 42, 44)".
• Side Seam 14 (14, 14, 14)'.
• Length from back of neck 22 ½ (23, 23, 23 ½)".
• Sleeve Seam 17 ½ (18, 18, 18 ½)".
• Width of Sleeve at upper-arm 14 (15, 15, 16)".

GAUGE: 7 sts=1"; 10 rows=1"
