Two Tone Cardigan: This pattern gives directions to knit the cardigan shown: This official description of this 1953 magazine pattern: "Dignified cardigan, rich in color and surface interest. A masculine pattern stripe textures the light-toned front; dark sleeves and back are covered with widely spaced ribbing. Pocket and front are banded in a darker shade". Directions are for small size (36-38). Changes for medium (40-42) and large (44-46) are in parentheses.
Materials: Spinnerin Touchdown, 9 (10-11) 1-oz. skeins main color (MC) for back, sleeves and trim; 5 (6-6) skeins contrasting color (CC) for fronts; Knitting needles Nos. 1 and 2. (Or, English sizes, 12 and 11.) 6 buttons. (Gauge: 7-1/2 sts=1"; 11 rows=1")
