Description

Men's Checkered Slipon : This vintage 1953 pattern contains instructions to crochet the men's vest pictured above. Officially termed a slip-on, the vest has ribbed banding at the deep V-neckline and armholes and wide ribbing at the bottom. It sports a masculine checked pattern. Instructions are for size 38. Changes for sizes 40, 42 and 44 are in parentheses. 

MATERIALS: - Botany Brand Terratones (2 oz. pull skein), Ensign (MC) - 3 (4, 4,5) sks. Dawn (CC) - 1 oz. pull skein: 4 (5, 6, 7) sks;   No.1 steel crochet hook. 

GAUGE-Border: 8 sc = 1"; 8 rows (4 ridges) = 1". Body: 13 sts = 2"; 9 rows =2".
