Vintage 1964 - An easy crochet double breasted vest for a 'favorite' man in our life.

Description

Crocheted Vest: The pattern contains instructions to crochet the comfortable vest pictured above. The vest calls for Fireman Red with brass buttons. You may, of course, substitute colors to meet his personality. The pattern is mans size 38 to 44. The directions are written for chest size 38. Changes for 40, 42 and 44 are shown in parentheses.  

MATERIALS:  Coats & Clark's Red Heart Super Fingering, 3 ply, 8 (8·9-10) 1-oz. skeins;   Steel crochet hooks Nos. 0 and 00.;   Four 3/4" buttons.

GAUGE: 5 pats or joint sc = 1 ½"; 5 rows = 1" (No. 0 hook). 3 pats or joint sc = 1"; 9 rows = 2" (No. 00 hook).
