Description

Crochet Millwheel Square: This crocheted square can be made either of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or of No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton. When joined together the squares form bedspreads, cloths, scarfs, pillows and buffet and chair sets.  When completed, the individual squares will measure 3-1/2 or 5 inches each.  

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements. The pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 6445 in 1939

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS; Unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (500 yard) skeins and a No. 8 steel crochet hook, or No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 10 steel crochet hook. Each square requires approximately 34 yards of heavy cotton, or 22 yards of fine cotton. SQUARE (5 X 5 INCHES IF MADE OF HEAVY COTTON; 3-1/2 X 3-1/2 INCHES
