Misses Childs Knitted Poncho Pattern Design 863

Knitted Poncho: This pattern contains directions to knit the ponchos shown. The poncho with a striped motif in a main and contrasting color, is in a front and back triangle shape, well below hips. It has a small notched collar, front neck tie closure and nice fringe all the way around the bottom. This is a mother / daughter set, or any combination you might choose. The pattern is sized for misses 10 to 18 and children 8 to 12.

This is a mail order pattern, typically purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 863.  The newspaper description:  "Travel everywhere in todays' favorite to - the poncho. Instant poncho is easy! Knit two identical pieces on two big needles; use bulky yarn or two strands worsted".
