This is a mail order pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs.   The pattern was marketed as Anne Cabot 5500.  The pattern was included in the Anne Cabot 1949 Needlework Album. The newspaper description:  "Whether your chairs are old or new, whether your tastes in decorative treatment run to the simple or ornate, this filet set brings charm and distinction to any room. Fascinatingly simple to make, you'll enjoy every minute spent in the making and adore the finished set".

Materials:

For chair back measuring approximately 16-1/2" x 12", and 2 arm pieces measuring approximately 12" x 8-1/2" - 5 balls of best six-cord mercerized crochet cotton, size 20 (400 yds to each ball), Steel crochet hook no. 10.

For chair back measuring approximately 13-1/2" x 10", and 2 arm pieces measuring approximately 10" x 7" - 5 balls of best six-cord mercerized crochet cotton, size 30 (400 yds to each ball), Steel crochet hook no. 11.
