This vintage 1963 jacket is a mohair beauty made spectacular with the large collar and panels in seed stitch.  

Description

Paneled Jacket : This pattern contains instructions to knit, crochet edges, the jacket shown above. Called a Paneled Jacket, this beauty sports seed stitched front buttoned panels, three quarter sleeves and a luxurious large shawl type collar. The jacket is hip length and sized 12 to 20. Instructions are written for a size 12, with changes for 14, 16, 18 and 20 shown in parentheses.

MATERIALS:

  • - Columbia-Minerva Roma Italian Mohair, 10 (11.12·13·14) 40-gram balls or Columbia-Minerva Icicle
  • (mohair), 14 (16·17·19·20) balls or columbia-Minerva Knitting Worsted or Columbia- Minerva Calypso Germantown Knitting Worsted, 4 (5·5·6·6) 4·oz. skeins.
  • - For Mohair: 14" knitting needles No.8. (Or English size 5.)
  • - For Worsted: 14" knitting needles No. 10. (Or English size 3.)
  • - Steel crochet hook No. 0 for either yarn.
  • - One yard 1-1/2" grosgrain ribbon,
  • - Seam binding and matching sewing thread.
  • - Four 1-1/4" buttons.
