Filet Crocheted Chair Set:  This pattern contains directions for making a crocheted chair set. The center of each piece is worked in filet crochet, the border is worked in the pineapple design. If desired the set can also be used as a buffet set or the chair back can be used as scarf ends. Included in the pattern is a filet chart for the center of chair back and arm rest.  The chair back will measure 14 x 16 inches; the arm rests are 6-1/2 x 13 inches each. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 7396 in 1945. This pattern was included in the Alice Brooks 1947 Designs Catalog.  The newspaper description:   

Material Requirements:  6 (175 yard) balls of No. 50 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 12 steel crochet hook;   6 balls of cotton will make a chair set. 4 balls of cotton will make a scarf end.
