Picot Crochet Beret Hat Handbag Design 475

Design 475 : This pattern gives directions to make the crocheted accessories pictured. The set includes a delight beret hat, crocheted in eight sections; 4 of which are picot stitched, and then joined for textural contrast. Also included is a lined handbag with a (purchased separately) handle.

This is a mail order pattern, typically purchased through newspapers and magazines. This pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 475 in 1942.  

Materials:   3 (3-3/4 ounce) skeins of red Knitting Worsted and a No.6 bone crochet hook or 7 (100 yard) skeins of red Candlewick and a No.6 bone crochet hook, an 8-1/2 inch;   wooden purse frame;   1/2 yard of lining material.   (If only the beret is being made 1 skein of yarn or 3 skeins of Candlewick will be sufficient)
