Pineapple Crochet Doily Pattern Design E-1118

Crocheted Doily : This contains directions for crocheting the doily shown. The design is a pineapple motif with picot mesh edge and a Dahlia Center. The finished doily will measure approx. 18 inches in diameter. Note: This pattern is written in 'the older' style, with some phrasing and punctuation different that today' standard.

This is a Mail Order Pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Needlework Bureau (Ellen Bruce) E-1118.  The newspaper description:  "An 18 inch doily with a pretty flower center and two rows of pineapples is finished with lacy mesh edging".

Materials:

• 500 yds mercerized #5 thread for large; #4 steel crochet hook.
• With #10 thread use #4 hook
• With #20 thread use " #8 hook
• With #30 thread use #10 " (doily will be somewhat smaller)
