Pineapple Doily Pattern in Crochet Anne Cabot's 5186

Pineapple Design in Crochet: This pattern gives directions for crocheting the doily shown.  The doily, in Mercerized Crochet Cotton is a large size - measuring 15 inches in diameter.

This is a Mail Order Pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs. This pattern was marketed as Anne Cabot's 5186 in 1946. The newspaper description:  "This 15 inch doily is a fine example of the popular "pineapple" motif in crochet. Use the doily on an end table, a lamp table, under a bowl of flower or fruit on your buffet or as a centerpiece on the dining room table. The center section has 8 "pineapples" and the fan-shaped sections between the pineapple motifs are slightly filled so that a lovely ruffled effect is obtained. This doily will make a grand gift either now or at the holiday season. It's perfect, too, for a church Bazaar."    This pattern was included in the Anne Cabot's 1942 Needlework Catalog.
