Pineapple Square Crochet Pattern for Cloths Design 3039

Crocheted Square : This pattern contains directions to crochet the square shown. This lovely pineapple design is crocheted in a square that is either 12 or 16 inches square. Use the complete square individually as a doily, or join the squares together to create scarves, runners, tablecloths, or whatever you heart desires.

This is a mail order pattern, purchased through newspaper advertisements.  The pattern was marketed as The America Weekly 3039 in 1945.  It was also marketed under the Laura Wheeler brand.  

Materials:   No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton an a No. 10 steel crochet hook or Unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knit Cotton and a No 8 steel crochet hook.   Each square requires approximately 175 yards of fine cotton or 235 yards of heavy cotton.
