Plaid Coat Knitting Pattern in Mohair Yarn

Plaid Coat: This pattern gives directions for knitting, crochet detail, the coat pictured. An attractive, loose fitting design, the coat is knit in Mohair Yarn with vertical stripes. (The horizontal stripes are crocheted when the knitting is completed). The three quartered sleeve (knit on the bias) coat features a large shawl type collar, large patch pockets, front buttoned and knee length. The coat is lined.

SIZES: Directions for size 10-12. Changes for size 14-16 in parentheses.

• Body Bust Size: 31"-32" (34"-36").
• Blocked Bust (closed) : 45" (51" ).

MATERIALS:

• Unger's Mohair De Luxe, 11 (13) 40-gram balls mocha, main color (MC) ; 8 (9) balls rust (R) and 2 (3) balls bone (B).
• 14" knitting needles Nos. 8 and 10. (Or English sizes 5 and 3.)
• Aluminum crochet hook size H.
• Two stitch holders.
• Matching sewing thread.
• Three 1 ½" buttons, one 1/2" button.
• 3-1/2 (4) yards taffeta, 45" wide, for lining.
• Half yard bias Pellon.

GAUGE: 7 sts = 2"; 9 rows = 2" (stockinette st, No. 8 needles).
