Crocheted Chair Set:  This filet crochet chair set, made of unbleached crochet and knitting cotton, may also be used as a buffet set or the large piece may be used as ends for scarfs. The pattern includes a filet-chart for the chair back and the arm rest.  When completed, the chair back will measure 12-1/2 x 16 and the arm rests are 6 x 12-1/2 inches. 

This is a Mail Order pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  This pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks No 5759 in 1937.   The official description:  "Pure crochet magic, that's what it is - when ordinary string can be transformed  into delight scarf ends or buffet sets, and in no time at all.  Just see the charming motif of this fascinating filet crochet - a graceful basket brimming with lovely flowers.  It's simply enough for the grandest of rooms, and charming for the humblest".  

Materials:  Unbleached crochet and knitting cotton (800 yard skein) (1 skeins of cotton will make a chair set or a buffet set or 2 scarf ends.);  No. 7 steel crochet hook.
