Royal Pineapple Crochet Doily, Anne Cabot 5271

Royal Pineapple Doily :  This pattern gives directions to crochet the doily pictured.  The pattern write-up:  Three rows of pineapples make this piece a really stunning doily or centerpiece. I saw one very similar to this at the Roosevelt Memorial Library in Hyde Park. It had been sent as a gift to the President. It is exhibited in a handsome gold case and is greatly admired by all who visit the Library. Make your doily in size 30 thread so that it will show the interesting design to best advantage. The doily is 17 inches across so it can be used as a centerpiece on a dining room table. It is simply beautiful when used under a low bowl of fruit or flowers"

This is a Mail Order pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Anne Cabot 5271. The pattern was included in the Anne Cabot 1949 Needlework Album.   

Materials:   Best Six Cord Mercerized crochet, size 30: Small Ball: 4 balls of White or Ecru, or 6 balls of any color. Big Ball: 2 balls of white or Ecru, or any color,   NEEDLE: Steel crochet hook No. 10 or 11.
