Sailor Coat Knitting Pattern for Mothers Daughters

Mother and Daughter Coats : This pattern contains directions to knit the coats pictured. This is a mother and daughter combo pattern. What little girl wouldn't want a coat just like Momma? This design, just above hip length has an open front, three quarter sleeves and a large sailor collar. The coats are knit in Bulkee Yarn (substitute) in three colors; a main color for the body and two contrast colors for striped trim around bottom, cuffs and collar.

SIZES: Directions for girls' size 6. Changes for girls' sizes 8, 10 and misses' sizes 12, 14, 16 are in parentheses.

• Body Chest or Bust Size: 24" (26"-28"-32"-34"-36" ).
• Blocked Chest or Bust Size: 28" (30"-32"-40"-42"-44") with borders turned back.

MATERIALS:

• Nomotta Mothproof Bulkee, 9 (10-11-14-15-16) 2-oz. skeins scarlet, main color (MC) ; 1 skein each of navy (N) and white (W).
• Knitting needles No. 10 ½. (Or English size 3.)
• Plastic crochet hook size 5 or G.
• Three stitch holders.

GAUGE: 3 sts=1" ; 5 rows=1" (pat).
