This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers. The pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 5266 in 1934. The length newspaper description: "If you are anxious to add a personal touch to a simple gift, decorate it with one of these lovely crocheted edges. They run in the size from a tiny one that will make a choice handkerchief edging to a lovely wide filet edge that will finish a pillow case most beautifully. Irish crochet - it's just the simple mesh with dainty roses on it - is just the thing for lingerie or for a lacy touch on a collar; it will certainly dress it up. The one edging lends itself to the use of two collars, and if you do it in string, you can make a striking shelving for your linen closet. The edging runs in sizes from 1/4 inch to 4-1/4 inches in width".
