Shallow Crochet Basket, Anne Cabot R2637

Crocheted Basket:   This pattern gives directions to crochet the basket.   This is an easy pattern with shallow sides in pineapple stitch.  When completed, it will have a 5-1/2 inch base with 3 inch sides.  

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as No 2637, by Peggy Roberts in 1949 and Anne Cabot in 1953.  The newspaper description:  "The simple stitches make fast work of this dainty basket. You'll find so many uses for it that you'll wonder what you ever did without it. Crochet another as a 'surprise gift' for that best friend of yours".
