Pouch Bag : This pattern contains instructions to crochet the vintage 1947 (from Woman's Day Magazine) bag pictured above. This lined bag has banding that wraps around the edges and becomes the short handles. Although the actual size is not stated, it looks like it would fashionable haul a fair amount. 

Materials: D-M-C Pearl cotton, size 5, 34 balls of hunters green;   Steel crochet hook No 3;   1/4 yard each buckram and taffeta for lining;   4 tortoise shell plastic rings;   - 58" of cording 1 1/2 inches wide
