Short Jacket Knitting Pattern with Contrast Trim

Very Brief Jacket : This pattern gives directions to knit, crochet detail, the jacket shown. This pattern, vintage 1954, is for a short jacket, waist length, knit in a primary and contrast color with the darker color also serving as contrast trim on the 3/4 length sleeve cuffs and the tall stand-up collar. The pattern is written for a misses size 12, with changes for 14 and 16 in parentheses.

Materials:

• "Botany" Brand Germantown Knitting Worsted, Main Color (MC) 6 (6-7) 2-oz. skeins; Contrasting Color (CC) 4 (4-5) skeins;
• Knitting Needles Nos. 6 and 10 ½;
• Bone Crochet Hook No. E;
• Tapestry needle.

Gauge: 3 ½ sts = 1"; 4 rows = 1" (Double Yarn No. 10 ½ Needles) ; 5 sts = 1"; 7 rows = 1".
