Description

Coat & Dress: This pattern contains instructions to knit the coat and dress pictured above. This vintage design, 1956, is a knitting pattern for a knee length short sleeved coat with patch pockets. With a couple minor changes in the pattern, the pattern can also be made as a straight dress, also short sleeved, round neckline with button closure and patch pockets.   This pattern is Sized 10 to 16. The directions are written for a size 10, with changes for 12, 14, and 16 shown in parentheses.  This pattern is part of a book review - American Thread Star Book 125.

Materials Required: 

  • AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "DAWN" BULKY YARN 30 (34, 38, 42) ozs. White or color of your choice
  • 1 pr. wooden or plastic knitting needles No 11.
  • 1-1 inch button
  • 3 yds. Grosgrain ribbon 2 inches wide for facing

GAUGE: 7 sts = 2 inches 5 rows = 1 inch
