The official 1940 description from Spool Cotton : " Attractive ribbing, a straight neckline and popular sleeveless style are all selling points to a man! Made of Shetland Floss ". This pattern is mens size 36, 38, 40 and 42.

• CHADWICK'S RED HEART SHETLAND FLOSS, 9 balls (1 oz. balls) for sizes 36 and 38; 10 balls for sizes 40 and 42.
• MILWARD'S Phantom Knitting Pins, 1 pair No. 1 (2-1/2 mm. size) and 1 pair No. 3 (3 mm. size) size).
