Strawberry Pineapple Centerpiece Doily Pattern No 989

Strawberry and Pineapple Centerpiece:  This pattern gives directions to crochet the doily shown.  The doily is named Strawberry - perhaps you see a resemblance - and worked in the ever popular pineapple stitch.   The finished doily will measure 16 inches in diameter. 

This is a Mail Order Pattern, purchased through newspapers. The pattern was marketed as Martha Madison No 989 in 1963.  

Materials: Using Mercerized Bedspread Crochet Cotton and working with a #7 steel crochet hook, our doily measured 16-inches in diameter;   Should one prefer a smaller and more dainty one this could be achieved by using #20 or #30 Crochet Cotton and working with #10 or #12 hook. Takes about 550 yards.
