Description

Knitted Cardigan: This pattern contains instructions for knitting, crochet edging, the cardigan shown. The pretty design, worked in Fingering or Sock and Sweater Yarn, is in an attractive striped pattern stitch that, where the stripes narrow as they go up, giving the illusion of a high squared neckline. It is worked in a simple design with long sleeves and front band. The pictures shows a sprinkling of violets, which are (optionally) added as lazy daisy stitches when the cardigan is completed. The pattern is written for misses size 10, with changes for 12, 14 and 16 in parentheses.

Materials:

  • AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "DAWN" WOOL and NYLON FINGERING YARN OR "DAWN" SWEATER & SOCK YARN "SANFORLAN" WON'T SHRINK OUT OF FIT or "DAWN" NYLON 9 (9, 11, 12) ounces White 2 (2, 2, 3) ounces Lt. Blue or Baby Blue or colors of your choice
  • and "STAR" SIX STRAND MERCERIZED EMBROIDERY COTTON, ARTICLE 50 1 skein each Heliotrope, Lt. Heliotrope, Dk. Heliotope, Lt. Emerald and Yellow
  • 10 buttons,
  • 1 ½ yds. 1 inch grosgrain ribbon
  • Knitting Needles: 1 pr. No. 2 or any size needle which will result in stitch gauge below.
  • Steel crochet hook No. 2.

Gauge: 8 sts = 1 inch; 16 garter st rows = 1 inch 10 rows garter st and 1 pattern stripe = 1 inch
