Description

The Sailor : This pattern contains directions for crocheting the hat pictured. The pattern, named the Sailor for the patriotic times of the late 1930's, is a fun piece indeed. It is sporting an extra wide flat brim, straight tall round sides and a flat time. The raised brim is perfect to apply ribbon, or other adornments. There is a headband that attaches into the back and holds the hat in place.

Materials:

  • 4 tubes "Raphael Brand" Gimp. ( Research indicates DMC Cabelia No 10 as a substitute )
  • 1 coil Cotton Rustproof Wire.
  • 1 coil Milliner's Wire,
  • 1 yd. Round Elastic,
  • 1 yd. 2" Ribbon.

STITCH: Use Single Crochet throughout.
