Three Crochet Basket Doilies Pattern No 397

Three Basket Doilies in Crochet:   This pattern gives directions to crochet the doily pictured.  The doily may be crocheted in three sizes using #20 crochet.  The base is a nice pineapple design surrounded by tall ruffled spokes that will measure either 2 or 4 inches tall.  The tall spokes contain items within the basket, as well as form a nesting effect when not in use.  These would be so-perfect on the buffet table. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed under both the Needlework Bureau and Martha Madison brands in 1967.  

Materials: About 900 yards #20 Crochet Cotton; use #10 steel crochet hook. Work evenly and rather firmly. The 9-in. doily will have a ruffle about 2-inches high; the 12-in. doily will have one 3- inches high; and the 15-in. doily will have a 4-inch ruffle. Each has 16-points.
