Watermelon Placemats Crochet PDF Pattern

S-600 : This pattern contains instructions to crochet the placemat and napkin set pictured above. And, come those long summer days, who doesn't want watermelon placemats ! Note - the pattern gives instructions for mats to be slipped over racks, as noted below. Intermediate stitchers should have the skills to alter the edge to a flat mat. The set is vintage 1954, from Coats & Clarks. 

Materials:  & P. COATS J"KNIT-CRO-SHEEN," Art. A.64: 5 balls of No. 122 Watermelon and 2 balls each of No. 1 White, No. 49 Chartreuse Green and No. 49-A Killarney; and COATS & CLARK'S O.N.T. SIX STRAND EMBROIDERY FLOSS, Art. C.l1: 1 skein of No. 12 Black;   Milwards Steel Crochet Hook No. 5 for Hot Plate Mats; No.6 for Napkin Holder;   A wire napkin holder, 5 inches in diameter; round wire hot plate racks 9 and 11 inches in diameter; oval racks 7 1/4 x 12 1/2 inches and 10 x 15 1/2 inches.
