Wild Aster Crochet Tablecloth Medallion Laura Wheeler 2700

Crocheted Medallion:  This medallion can either be made of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or of No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton. The pattern contains directions for making two style medallions. The first style medallion is a complete square, having all four corners. These medallions are used for center section of article. The second style medallion has only two corners. These second style medallions are used all around edge of article (see Detail of Joined Medallions). When joined together the medallions form bedspreads, cloths, scarfs, pillows and other household articles.   The primary square measures 4-1/2 or 6-1/2 inches. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 2700.  The newspaper description:  "Just a beginner? Then this medallion, wild aster, is meant for you. It's such easy crochet and works up so quickly in string. Make a pillow or scarf to start with. You'll find the square piling up in no time".
